Studies have shown how connecting to nature can help to calm and restore, refocus and increase awareness. All things to help boost creativity, productivity and problem solving skills.
Connecting to nature is more than just a walk in the woods, and during the session I teach techniques that help your staff unwind, relax and step away from their daily stresses. The days workshop is for a minimum of 8 and maximum 12 attendees and typically starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm and is split into two parts each two and a half hours long.
Morning session
The first is a fully immersive experiential outdoor session where participants will learn how to develop a deeper connection with nature through a series of activities referred to as “invitations” using the senses of smell, taste, hearing, touch, and sight as well as imaginary senses.
The invitations are designed to slow down the participant, so they become more aware and mindful of the natural surroundings. Some invitations are done on their own, and others as a couple or as a group. After each invitation the group comes back together and can share what they experienced if they would like to.
There will also be a mindfulness session halfway through the morning and a group activity towards the end where the participants will create a piece of nature art with natural elements that have been offered by the woodland,
The end of the outdoor session is marked by a tea ceremony using locally sourced and foraged natural ingredients.
The time spent outside involves only a small amount of walking and at a slow pace. Participants will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and strong and comfortable footwear and need to make us aware of any pre-existing health conditions.
Afternoon session
The afternoon session takes place after lunch (which is provided at our sites in Surrey) and is an indoor workshop where participants will learn: -
Participants will create their own nature-based employee wellbeing action plan during the afternoon session to help them develop their own nature connection practice and work it into their daily lives and routine.
Our workshops can be run on your premises if you have access to natural space, or at a suitable venue which we can help you to source. We also have access to two locations in Surrey and Berkshire, both with indoor space for the afternoon workshop and are close to train stations on the Reading and Woking to London Waterloo lines and not far from the M25 and M3 motorways all within an hour of London. There is also car parking available on site and nearby. To discuss the options about our nature based wellbeing workshops call us on 07484 206902 or click on the find out more button below.
Our half day workshop is a cost effective alternative for organisations in the Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, London and surrounding areas. This can be a morning or an afternoon session and provides a 2 hour immersive forest bathing experience followed by a one hour facilitated session developing a nature based wellbeing action plan.
